Mary Norris joined the editorial staff of The New Yorker in 1978 and has been a copy editor and proofreader there for more than thirty years. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, she lives in New York and Rockaway. Between You & Me: Confessions of a Comma Queen (W. W. Norton) is her first book.
Rachel Toor teaches Creative Writing at Eastern Washington University and is the author of six books, including most recently, Write Your Way In: Crafting An Unforgettable College Admissions Essay (University of Chicago Press, 2017) and Misunderstood: Why The Humble Rat May Be Your Best Pet Ever (Farrar, Straus, and Giroux, 2016).
