On Wednesday night, the two candidates for Washington’s Fifth Congressional District seat held a respectful, but sometimes pointed debate about economic and health care issues. The forum was sponsored by Greater Spokane Incorporated, in conjunction with KXLY.
Seven-term Republican Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers and her Democratic opponent, former state Senator Lisa Brown, answered questions about federal farm policy, business and regulations, health care, the future of Fairchild Air Force Base and a variety of other issues. The program was moderated by Nadine Woodward of KXLY.
Next week, Spokane Public Radio will carry another in the series of debates between these two candidates, this time from Walla Walla. Stay tuned for details about when and where you can hear it on Spokane Public Radio.
