From the Studio: Spokane Stage Left Theater presents "The Long Christmas Ride Home"

Spokane Stage Left Theater

Director Susan Hardie, musician Todd Milne, and actors J. P. O’Shaughnessy, Pam Kingsley, and Andrea Tate journeyed to our station to discuss Stage Left’s upcoming winter production: “The Long Christmas Ride Home.” Featuring Japanese Bunraku-style puppet theatre performances and live music, it explores the themes of culture, religion, gender, values, life and death through the story of a family of five traveling to their grandparents’ home for the holidays.

Performances will be at 7:30 PM December 13 – 15, and 2 PM December 16, with more times next week.

This play is suitable for general audiences.

Verne Windham got his start at Spokane Public Radio 20 years ago. “I came in to complain and they hired me.” He’s now the Program Director, as well as the host of Morning Classical and Concert of the Week. When choosing music for Morning Classical, Verne likes to keep the agenda as broadly defined as possible. For Concert of the Week, he focuses on the best of recent local performances, mostly classical in nature. For many years, Verne was also the conductor of the Spokane Youth Orchestra. He enjoys gardening, his vintage car and playing French horn.
