We’re back, after a year of Covid-19.
Hillyard Heritage Celebrations and the Hillyard Community are celebrating the Hillyard Festival, Hi-Jinx Parade and Roll “N” Hillyard Car Show August 6-8, 2021. Times for the Festival are Friday, August 6, from noon to 10:00pm; Saturday, August 7, from 10:00am to 10:00pm; and Sunday, August 8, from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
Three days of family fun and continuous free entertainment beginning at noon on “Senior Day,“ Friday, August 6, in Harmon Park, located on Market Street between Decatur and Bismark. This is the epicenter of fun with live entertainment on stage, a vendor fair, food, soft drinks, “The Pirate Cove” Beer Garden, crafts, kids' games plus WWE style Pro wrestling, and Bingo this year is all paper and lots, lots more.
Enjoy continuous live entertainment by some of the region’s most talented musicians, dancers and entertainers, scheduled to change about every 60 minutes. Some of this year’s headliners include bands No Reply, Jacob Vanknowe, Rusty Nail & the Hammers, 3rd String and many others. Other entertainment includes Dreamtime Dancers and much more.
Saturday’s events kick off at 10:00 AM with the 109th Hi-Jinx Parade. This year’s parade theme is “HILLYARD ROCKS.” Parade entrants can register that morning or online at www.hillyardfestival.com if they want to be announced during the Hi-Jinx parade. This year we are having cash prizes for the Float entries and Ribbons will be rewarded for the best entries, with the children’s’ entries being judged by COPS NE. After the traditional Hi-Jinx Parade join us in Harmon park for endless fun. 11:00 AM Starts everything in the park. We are working on having a midway this year that will have many fun and exciting games for the children. Fireworks begin at 9:45 PM. (Weather permitting)
An Open Church Non-Denominational church service on Sunday, August 8, beginning at 10:00am. Following the church service, come out and vote for the People’s Choice Award in the 4th Annual Roll “N” Hillyard Car Show. Back by popular demand, the Car Show will be held in Harmon Park beginning at 12:00 noon.
