Youth Pottery with Alydia Grover In this youth pottery course, students will learn how to make pinch pots, coil pots, and gain the basic knowledge of throwing pots on the wheel. This class will be a production class, so students will take home their creations.
Students will also learn about tools, terminology, and studio etiquette. Ages 11-15
4-week course, Mondays from 6 PM to 8 PM, April 25, 2022- May 16th, 2022.
Included in this course: Tools for studio use only, studio glazes, wheels, and the firing of all finished works.

Morning Intermediate Pottery with Jackie Goolsbey In this immersion pottery course, students will apply all prior knowledge and basic skills to create functional and complete works. New skills, material use, and tool applications will also be acquired by the student at the end of this course. 6-week course, Tuesdays from 10am- 1pm. Begins April 26- Ends May 31, 2022. Ages 16+.

An introduction to the skills of drawing for people who have not taken formal art classes and may need to attain confidence in their drawing skills.
All Ages · Calling all artists! Come join our creative community for a weekly free-form drawing program. We’ll explore different artistic mediums, develop skills and ideas, and cultivate imaginative thinking through our art.
All skill levels are welcome, whether you’ve never drawn a doodle in your life or you’re a total pro. Supplies and projects are provided - all you need to bring is your imagination.

Poetry Workshop July 20th, 2022 6pm-7:30pm
In this generative workshop we will read great poems and discuss a topic in the craft of poetry before launching into a writing exercise. The goal of this workshop is to learn how to expand and hone our writing practice, and students will leave with a rough draft of a new poem to work on.
This workshop will be followed by our Open Mic Nights (3rd Thursday of each month) where we encourage you to share your poetry, or observe!

Come spend a few relaxing hours & learn some basics on frame loom weaving. Emerge’s frame looms will be warped & ready for you to weave a small piece.
Class time is 4 hours however some may finish sooner . We try to not rush students and allow time to leisurely weave .
All supplies for this are included in the price of workshop, students may bring fabric scraps feathers beads or treasures they’d like to include in their weavings. Snacks and drinks are welcome as well, since this is a longer session.

Begins April 30th ends May 21st. Ages 7+
Grades 4 - 8 · Join us to explore the wonderful world of coding! Youth will be exposed to a core concept of coding - variables, conditionals, functions, or functions with parameters - and empowered to explore these concepts at their own pace in Scratch.
The concept being explored will rotate each month: July: Variables August: Conditionals September: Functions October: Functions with Parameters
A lesson on the topic will be provided every half hour during the program (at 12:30, 1, 1:30, and 2). Once youth have gotten the lesson, they will be assigned a computer to start coding!
