CHAS To Make New Covid Vaccination Appointments On Tuesday

The provider that’s operating the state-run Covid vaccination site at the Spokane Arena is preparing to make appointments Tuesday afternoon for another round of shots.

CHAS Health says it will open its online portal and phone bank at 5 pm to sign up another 4,000 patients. During last week’s signup period, more than 2,500 applicants were paired with appointments in less than an hours’ time.

Kelley Charvet from CHAS says there’s no trick to getting a preferred place in line.

“It doesn’t actually matter what time they get into the queue prior to 5:00. It doesn’t put you in a particular spot in line until 5 pm when those slots open. There could be a pool of individuals waiting there and then they get an assigned spot right when schedules open," she said.

In other words, it’s a case of random luck.

Charvet says CHAS will make appointments for 800 people-a-day from Wednesday through Saturday and then next Tuesday.

She says the agency is also making plans for second doses for those who received their first shots during the last two weeks. About 7,500 people have had their first inoculations.
