CHAS Reopens Online Covid Vaccination Portal; Quickly Fills Demand For New Shots

Spokane’s CHAS Health has filled its new appointments logbook for four more days of Covid vaccinations.

Kelley Charvet from CHAS says the provider opened up its portals last night [Monday] after having been assured it will receive 4,000 new doses from the Washington Department of Health today [Tuesday].“That means we will not be providing vaccinations on Wednesday. It allows a little bit of buffer just in case there happen to be any other delays. Also, we will not be vaccinating on Monday the eighth. We’re still trying to get into the groove of making sure we understand what the delivery schedule’s going to look like and so we need to create some of those buffers in there to not have to, for some reason, reschedule any patients," she said.

CHAS planned last night [Monday] to make appointments with about 2,500 people, about 600 a day for four days.

Several hundred doses in the new shipment will be paid back to providers that had loaned vaccine to CHAS last week. CHAS wound up vaccinating 700 people more than it had planned during the initial week of the vaccination super site at the Spokane Arena.
