The Guitar Hour: Brad Richter

Today, Leon and Verne welcomed classical guitarist Brad Richter to the studio for a live guitar hour performance.  Brad comes to town every year for his performance at the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center in Post Falls, Idaho.  He's back again, and his concert is tomorrow  night (Friday) at 7:00pm with cellist Viktor Uzur.  He gave us a preview of that concert as well as a compelling discussion with Leon and Verne about his past experiences and thoughts on all things guitar.  Tickets for his concert tomorrow night are available now.

Verne Windham got his start at Spokane Public Radio 20 years ago. “I came in to complain and they hired me.” He’s now the Program Director, as well as the host of Morning Classical and Concert of the Week. When choosing music for Morning Classical, Verne likes to keep the agenda as broadly defined as possible. For Concert of the Week, he focuses on the best of recent local performances, mostly classical in nature. For many years, Verne was also the conductor of the Spokane Youth Orchestra. He enjoys gardening, his vintage car and playing French horn.
