KPBX Kids' Concert: Musicfest Northwest Live Broadcast May 15 - 17

Selected students competing in the 2019 Musicfest Northwest Festival will be invited by their adjudicators to perform live in the SPR Performance Studio May 15-17, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. on KPBX 91.1 FM during Classical Music with Verne Windham.

MusicFest Northwest is a regional weeklong adjudicated festival of performances by young musicians, artists and dancers on the campus of Gonzaga University.  Over 1500 young performers are part of Musicfest Northwest every year and it is considered to be the largest festival of its kind in the United States.  Our SPR broadcasts will also be available as a podcast on our web site so they can be heard at any time.

These broadcasts are possible thanks to KPBX Kids' Concert Event Donors: Harvard Park Children's Learning Center NorthNumerica Credit Union, Rocket Bakery, and grant from the Johnston-Fix Foundation.

Chris Maccini previously worked at SPR as Morning Edition host and producing arts and special programming such as The Bookshelf, Poetry Moment, Northwest Arts Review, special features and more.
