Spokane city voters have chosen retired television newscaster Nadine Woodward and City Council President Ben Stuckart to face each other in November for the right to become the next mayor.
Woodward had the highest vote count in the tally released Tuesday night (42.3%). Stuckart ran second with 37.2%. City firefighter Shawn Poole finished third with 11.7%. Jonathan Bingle (6%) and Kelly Cruz (2.4%) were fourth and fifth.
Woodward retired from KXLY earlier this year and soon thereafter announced her intentions to seek the seat held for the last eight years by David Condon. Stuckart has served two terms as council president and is required to leave that office due to term limitations.
