New Leaders Join Spokane Arts Commission

The Spokane Arts Commission has six new members and a new chair. Dean Davis of Dean Davis Photography became chair of the arts commission in January.

This week the city council confirmed six new commissioners, including: Ginger Ewing of Terrain, Garret Daggett of Exova, Derrick Oliver from ETailz, Chase Ogden from EWU, Rebekah Pepiton-Wilkins at Central Valley high, and Rick Eichstaedt from the Center for Justice.

The commission works to promote and enhance the presence of arts in Spokane. Commissioners are appointed to three year terms. There are ten commissioners in addition to the six newly appointed.

Laura Becker remains the Executive Director of Spokane Arts Fund, a role she took on in November. The organization has seen three leaders since 2013, when Spokane Arts moved out of city hall and into a non-profit model.
