Season 6, Episode 8: The Accidental Exorcist

Examining the details of how to perform a common- or garden-variety exorcism on Wikipedia, Kevin and Tony come to the conclusion that most exorcisms are successful merely by chance. They further find that many things might need to be exorcised in our proud, beautiful, tall New America, including intelligence and common human decency. Speaking of a lack of common human decency, this episode’s sketches include Unacceptable TED Talks with Alonza Fink, who presents a radical vision—of life without TED Talks. That’s followed by the misanthropic misadventures of Bob Palindrome, Bus Driver, who compares notes with a Büber driver while on the way to receive an award he was mistakenly selected for. We entertain a Paid Private Service Announcement from Leonard L. Gout, who defends the reputation of Sidney G. Fleischman against all depredations, and then it’s a commercial from that “other” Pete’s grocery store, Meddler Pete’s. Finally, we return to the world of the Schmalkaldic League to reveal the origin stories of Grimhilda of Tartu, the Psychosomatic Poisoner. Every time she changes her accent, we drink!
