SPR Presents Mara Liasson June 21

Spokane Public Radio is bringing NPR National Political Correspondent Mara Liasson  to speak for our annual Underwriter and Volunteer Thank You Event on Thursday, June 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bing Crosby Theater.

Known as one of the most diligent journalists in Washington, DC, Liasson provides in-depth coverage of candidates and issues in both presidential and congressional races. She presents context for political trends and looks below the surface of what’s happening in the political landscape.  During her visit, Liasson will fill us in on the current situation, provide perspective, and talk about the midterm elections. The evening will include a Q&A session, hosted by Spokane Public Radio’s Steve Jackson, as well as the opportunity to meet Liasson after the presentation.

Mara Liasson’s reports are regularly heard on Morning Edition and All Things Considered. Recently she has covered stories such as The Politics Of The McCabe Firing and 5 Laws Of Political Gravity In Midterms. Do They Still Apply In The Age Of Trump?”Liasson has been with NPR since 1985 as a reporter and newscaster. She has received numerous awards for her reporting, including the White House Correspondents’ Association’s Merriman Smith Award for her daily reporting.
