From the Studio: SFCC's Spartan Theatre presents "Shakespeare in Love"

Spokane Public Radio

It was lovely to have Director Ashley DeMoville and actors Conner Gracio, Arthur Riese-Freeman and Jennifer Tindall from SFCC’s Spartan Theatre in our studio today to discuss their current stage production: “Shakespeare in Love.” Adapted from the film of the same name, this play depicts the legendary William Shakespeare as a young playwright tormented by writer’s block who finds his inspiration in a wealthy merchant’s daughter that secretly longs to be an actor.

The next performances will be at 7:30 PM on March 7, 8 & 9 and 2 PM on March 10.

This show is suitable for general audiences.

Verne Windham got his start at Spokane Public Radio 20 years ago. “I came in to complain and they hired me.” He’s now the Program Director, as well as the host of Morning Classical and Concert of the Week. When choosing music for Morning Classical, Verne likes to keep the agenda as broadly defined as possible. For Concert of the Week, he focuses on the best of recent local performances, mostly classical in nature. For many years, Verne was also the conductor of the Spokane Youth Orchestra. He enjoys gardening, his vintage car and playing French horn.
