Urban Coyote Bush Band KPBX Kids' Concert

Urban Coyote Bush Band
The Urban Coyote Bush Band performs frequently at the Fall Folk Festival.

Songs of the Australian Outback and British Isles echoed through River Park Square on Saturday, October 4 as the Urban Coyote Bush Band performed for another KPBX Kids' Concert.

Kids of all ages made musical noise with clappers, washboards, small cymbals, and the 'lagerphone' made out of bottlecaps.

Kids also had help creating kangaroo headgear, a craft by the Mobius Children's Museum.

Since its inception in Spokane in 1982, the Urban Coyote Bush Band has carried the spirit and flavor of Australian folk music to audiences throughout the Northwest.

Group members include Ken Raymond, Paul Tapp, and Jim Roberts. Among them, they play guitar, bass, mandolin, fiddle, harmonica, banjo, pennywhistle, accordion, bouzouki, bodhran and lagerphone (an Australian rhythm instrument fashioned from bottlecaps). Read more about Australian Folk Music here.
