Broadway Brings Mormons Back, Along With Riverdance and Newsies

Book of Mormon
Johan Persson

The Book of Mormon is coming back to Spokane. WestCoast Entertainment announced its 2015-16 Broadway season Tuesday, with more events than ever.

The five Broadway shows that are part of the season ticket package are Riverdance, A Christmas Story, The Book of Mormon, 42ndStreet, and Disney’s Newsies. WestCoast vice president Lerria Schuh says they scheduled the nine-time Tony Award winning Book of Mormon for a second season in a row because they had so much demand for the show.

The year is chock full of events, 19 in all, including another round of National Geographic Live.

Schuh: “We’ve been concentrating more and more on trying to provide a little something for everyone. So you have things like "Mannheim Steamroller Christmas" which is more concert-like, and then you have I Love Lucy on stage, and so it’s providing that depth and variety.”

I Love Lucy on Stage, Adam and Jamie from Mythbusters, a magic show Illusionists, and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast are part of the special engagements schedule outside the Broadway season-package.

The full schedule of events is on WestCoast Entertainment's website. The season runs from September through April. This year’s season ends next week with National Geographic Live and Guys and Dolls.
