Spokane Mayor David Condon Talks With Inland Journal

Kate Johnston/SPR

In our studio today is Spokane Mayor David Condon. Mayor Condon is in the second-to-last year of his stint as head of the city of Spokane. It’s a good time to be mayor. The economy is in good shape; unemployment is low. But there are challenges, particularly with how to work with people without homes, people who struggle to make ends meet, people with mental illnesses. And there are interesting projects going on. Riverfront Park is in the middle of a major face lift. Stormwater infrastructure projects continue. The North-South Freeway is moving into the phase that will eventually link the north end of the highway with Interstate 90.
