Tuesday's Covid Numbers For Spokane, North Idaho, Blow Past Previous Record

Spokane COVID Response

The Thanksgiving Covid bump is apparently a real thing.

On Tuesday, Spokane County reported 692 new cases of coronavirus. That’s way beyond the old one-day record of 499. It also puts the county at 50 short of 20,000.

The health district also reported eight new hospitalizations, one more than reported on Monday. Health officials say those numbers are fluid and not necessarily the exact number of people admitted on a specific day. Three more people are reported to have passed from Covid. The total in Spokane County is 293.

Not long after Spokane County announced its record, the Panhandle Health District announced it had also hit a one-day high, 416 new cases, though it also said hospitalization numbers continue to decrease. That number hit a high of 83 on November 29. On Tuesday, it had fallen to 58.
