Eastern Washington airports are on track to receive about $17 million from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
The largest single award in Eastern Washington will go to Spokane International Airport, according to Washington Senator Patty Murray’s office. The facility is anticipated to receive about $6.4 million. Airport spokesman Todd Woodard said they’re waiting for more guidance from federal aviation officials before making decisions on how to spend the funds.
Other airports getting significant investments include the Tri-Cities Airport, which will receive about $3 million, the Yakima Airport and Pullman-Moscow Airport, each of which will receive about a million dollars.
Smaller airports, such as the Methow Valley Airport in Winthrop, are receiving smaller investments of between $100,000 to $200,000. The funds can be used for runways, terminals, lights and other safety and capacity improvements.
