Three teams play later this week in the NCAA tournament, Coug men in the NIT on Tuesday

Zags, Cougs each send men's and women's teams to postseason play

On Tuesday night, the WSU men will host Santa Clara in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament, or NIT. Game time is 8 o’clock at Beasley Coliseum.

On Thursday, the Gonzaga men’s and women’s teams will see their first action in their respective NCAA tournaments. The men play Thursday afternoon in Portland against Georgia State. The Bulldogs are the number one seed in the 68-team tournament. They went all the way to the national championship game last year and the expectation is they could have that same sort of success this year. The Gonzaga women will play in Louisville, Kentucky against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The time hasn’t yet been announced. If one or both teams win, their next games would be Saturday.

On Friday, the WSU women will play Kansas State in the NCAA tournament in Raleigh, North Carolina. The time hasn’t yet been announced. If the Cougs win, they would play on Sunday, potentially against the first-seeded North Carolina State Wolfpack.
