Travel producer Rick Steves shares tips and trends for European travel in 2023

Travel producer Rick Steves spoke with E.J. Iannelli by phone about the outlook for European travel in 2023.

COVID, crowds, climate change and carbon emissions are all factors that potential travelers should consider before booking a trip to Europe's museums and cultural landmarks. This might mean considering less touristed destinations, visiting in the off-season, dining al fresco or making advance reservations at more popular sites.

Steves addresses many of these topics in country-specific detail in his Rick Steves Tours Festival of Europe, which begins on Monday, January 9, 2023. The virtual event runs for 22 consecutive nights and is free to attend. Those interested in participating can learn more or register at Rick Steves' website.
