Eastern Washington University’s former president Mary Cullinan has died.

Interim President David May announced her death to the campus in a statement Monday.

Groundbreaking New Building Opens Near Downtown Spokane

 The partners involved in creating the new Catalyst building just east of downtown Spokane celebrated a virtual grand opening ceremony today [Thursday].

The building will anchor what is now called the South Landing Eco-District neighborhood, near the southern terminus of the Gateway Bridge in the University District. It will soon house several Eastern Washington University programs.

Eastern Washington University President Mary Cullinan has stepped down, effective immediately. She will be replaced on an interim basis by the university’s provost, David May.

The transition comes as Eastern prepares for an academic year that will be conducted mostly online.   

Spokane's Catalyst Building Reaches New Milestone

The partners involved in creating a new "zero carbon" building just east of downtown Spokane celebrated a milestone today [Monday].

The “topping out” ceremony at the Catalyst Building marked the laying of its last structural piece.

Avista Announces New Catalyst Building In U-District

This week Avista announced it plans to create what it calls its Catalyst building along East Sprague in Spokane’s University District.

The building’s name is apt because Avista hopes it will become a catalyst on several levels.
