Suzanne Ostersmith, Director of Dance and Interdisciplinary Arts at Gonzaga University, entered the KPBX studio with E.J. Iannelli to preview their Fall Dance Production this weekend.
This work is choreographed by Seattle-based choreographer Ashley Menstrina and faculty member CarliAnn Bruner.
Along with student dancers from the Gonzaga University Repertory Dance Company, the concert will feature the renowned Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company from Salt Lake City, Utah.
Ririe-Woodbury is also working with Gonzaga’s Dance for Parkinson’s program as part of the event. The company will use movement and stories from Dance for Parkinson’s participants to inspire dance phrases in their work, Bodystorm.
Ostersmith also looked ahead to the dance department's involvement in Gonzaga's upcoming Christmas Candlelight event (Dec. 10 and 11) as well as a first-ever Summer Dance Festival that is planned for 2023.
Gonzaga University's Fall Dance Production takes place this Saturday, November 19, 2022 in the Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center on the Gonzaga campus.
