Loren Jakobov Reads "Counting Moons" by Devreaux Baker

Loren Jakobov is a New York based spoken word performer, artist and musician. Her self-published book of poetry titled Truth is a Woman (2019) is a collection of poems chronicling her maturity and the lives of those who shaped her identity as a woman. It is dedicated in memory of friend Miriam Irene Shelow. With a background in songwriting and Music Composition Jakobov draws inspiration for her poetry from lyrics and performance. Her poems often reflect on issues of social inequality; from abuse and sexual assault to immigration, mental health and the existential issues of our time and age.
