Spokane County health officials say a new public Covid testing site will open to the public tomorrow [Friday] in Airway Heights. Health Office Bob Lutz says it replaces the public drive-through site at the county Fairgrounds that closed a few weeks ago.
“It’s going to be a great testing site for that Airway Heights community because we know there are needs up there that haven’t necessarily been readily met and especially since we’ve lost access to the Fairgrounds," Lutz said. "This will at least provide a more local resource to Airway Heights, Medical Lake, Cheney, things of that sort.”
The new site is located at the MultiCare Rockwood Clinic. That’s at 10414 W. Highway 2. Patrons are asked to park in the lot that’s near the Jack in the Box and call the clinic number that’s posted on the adjacent signage. Someone will answer and give you instructions for what to do next.
The testing will be available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 11 am and 2 pm.
The health district encourages people that have any of the Covid symptoms to be tested. After the swabs are analyzed, the district will contact people with the results and provide medical guidance, if needed.
