KPBX sponsors the International Beer Tasting Festival at the Spokane Interstate Fairgrounds.

Oct 19 – The Dow plunges 508 points, the largest one-day percentage decline in history.

Dec 8 – President Regan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev sign INF Treaty in Washington, D.C., in which both countries agree to eliminate their intermediate-range and shorter-range nuclear missiles.
