Coeur d'Alene Symphony

Maestro Jan Pellant visited the Spokane Public Radio studio on Tuesday, October 2. He is the new
Artistic Director and Conductor of the Coeur d'Alene Symphony as it celebrates its 40th anniversary. 

The season's first concert, Nineteenth Century Grandeur, is Friday, October 5, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, October 6, at 2 p.m. Maestro Pellant will give a brief lecture at the Salvation Army Kroc Center 45 minutes before the concert time.

These young artists performed live, in the studio, this morning, to preview their appearance with the Coeur d'Alene Symphony  Orchestra this weekend in their program, Voyage of Discovery, Part 4: Discovering Genius.

Cellist, Mika Hood will perform with the Coeur d'Alene Symphony this weekend, to perform "Schelomo," by Bloch. With piano accompaniment by David Brewster, she performed live in the studio this morning, and then spoke with Verne about her background and the upcoming show. Steve Sibulsky and Jill Cathey talk with Verne Windham about the season's concerts, fundraisers, and the Christmas at the Kroc concerts this weekend. Steve is the new board president and will narrate 'The Night Before Christmas' at the concerts. Jill is Principal Oboe and helps with the symphony's outreach.
