Bike Everywhere Month, May 2020

Join Spokane Public Radio & Spokane Bikes as we participate in Bike Everywhere Month in May. Spokane Bikes is an organization committed to increasing awareness and participation in bicycle commuting. We invite you to get on your bike and ride to work, errands, and everywhere. Bike commuting provides a variety of benefits to commuters, our environment and the community as a whole. You can find more information about this event here.

From the Spokane Bicycle Club on COVID-19 news and Bike Everywhere Month:

Advice and requirements by state and local authorities changes daily.  May Bike Everywhere Month planning is proceeding, but with an awareness that social events may need to be canceled.  Keep checking back at this site for updated information.

Many Bike Everywhere events involve minimal or no social contact.

  • Plan for bike commuting with our tips
  • Take advantage of crowd-sourced and updated maps
  • Here are a few short family-oriented rides to try
  • Bike shops are providing bike safety inspections
  • LovetoRide is the on-line way to record mileage and stay in virtual 'touch' with friends

With gym closures, this is a great time to try biking as a replacement exercise - only your own germs to cope with if you ride to work or stores.  May is a great month to develop a healthy new habit even if we can't socialize has much as we'd like.

Bike Everywhere social events have moved to September, during the NEW Bike to Work Week, 9/21/-27
