From the Studio: African Children's Choir

Today we were in for a really special treat with a visit from the African Children's Choir.  A group of about 18 kids came in with the director, chaperones, and drummers to sing a variety of songs for us.  Director Eva Nalukwago also talked with Verne about the songs and the choir's tour which is going on right now.  The African Children's Choir will be performing tonight, Friday, April 29th at Opportunity Presbyterian Church in Spokane Valley at 7:00pm as well as three performances on Sunday, May 1st in Spokane.

Singing in the Performance Studio

Verne Windham got his start at Spokane Public Radio 20 years ago. “I came in to complain and they hired me.” He’s now the Program Director, as well as the host of Morning Classical and Concert of the Week. When choosing music for Morning Classical, Verne likes to keep the agenda as broadly defined as possible. For Concert of the Week, he focuses on the best of recent local performances, mostly classical in nature. For many years, Verne was also the conductor of the Spokane Youth Orchestra. He enjoys gardening, his vintage car and playing French horn.
