Covid Vaccines Become Available To All Washington Adults On Thursday
For the last few months, Washington has limited who has access to coronavirus vaccines. But those limits go away on Thursday. All adults and 16- and 17-year-olds will be eligible to apply for vaccination appointments.Public health officials, including SheAnne Allen from the Washington Department of Health, urge you to get whatever vaccine is available. But if you have a preference, Allen says the state is refining a tool to help you find the one you’re looking for.
"We’re working hard to update our Vaccine Locator website to include vaccine type. We hope to have that available sometime soon," Allen said. "In the meantime, Vaccine Finder, which is a federal tool that is intended to be updated once a day by enrolled providers, that can identify specific types that are available across the state.”
Allen says the state is also encouraging individual providers to make clear to the public the vaccines they’re offering. She says that should help parents who are looking for the Pfizer vaccine for their teenagers. That’s currently the only one authorized for them.
