From the Studio: Terrain's BrrrZAAR 2022

Organizers and artists from the local winter artisan market describe what's in store

Ginger Ewing, Jackie Caro, Makayla Sotin and Ruly Deen entered the KPBX studio with E.J. Iannelli to provide a preview of this year's BrrrZAAR, which takes place on December 17 in River Park Square.

BrrrZAAR is the artist, crafter and maker market that functions as a winter counterpart to Terrain's summertime Bazaar.

Ewing is Terrain's executive director and co-founder, and Caro is the organization's operations director. Sotin is a designer and illustrator at Makayla Sotin Designs; Deen is a metalsmith who runs Silver Element Jewelry.

The artists and organizers provided a recap of the recent Terrain event before discussing BrrrZAAR 2022 in more detail. Deen explained why BrrrZAAR has been important to her as a participating artist. Sotin is vending for the first time this year and also designed the event poster.

Along with prints and jewelry, BrrrZAAR features clothing, ceramics, skincare and home décor. There will be live music and family-friendly activities in addition to vendors spread across the mall's three floors.

In 2021, 70 Vendors sold $175,000 worth of art and handmade goods. Approximately 15,000 people attended the event.

BrrrZaar takes place this Saturday (Dec. 17, 2022) in River Park Square from 10am to 8pm
.
