Nov. 3, 2022: Dario Ré, sotdae & K-pop, "Exile"

The inaugural episode of TA(P) features Dario Ré, sotdae and an original play

This first-ever episode of the Thursday Arts (P)review — where the "p" is parenthetical because we look both forward and back — includes the following:

  • "Figures in the Mars Black," a new single from local singer–songwriter Dario Ré, plus an excerpt from an earlier interview with Ré conducted by Soundspace host Zan Agzigian.
  • A fresh interview with Hyunki Ahn, president of the Spokane–Jecheon Sister Cities Association, on the sotdae sculptures in Riverfront Park and the K-pop performance that will commemorate them on November 5, 2022.
  • An excerpt from a recent interview with Bryan Harnetiaux, the playwright-in-residence at the Spokane Civic Theatre, on the premiere of his original play Exile. Director Jerry Sciarrio was also on hand. Exile's debut run closes this weekend.

[Note: The Nov. 5, 2022 K-pop performance has since been canceled on account of weather.]

Digging the intro music? It's "C Stopped the Clock" by C.

Thursday Arts (P)review airs every Thursday at 12pm on KPBX with a roundup of arts-related news and information from across the Inland Northwest.
