Poetry to Music

Poetry to Music

Poetry to Music is an event designed for those who want to have a deeper understanding of how poetry and music come together in a composer’s mind to create a song or an instrumental piece of music that interprets a poem. This year, you will enjoy original compositions created by music composition students at Eastern Washington University and Gonzaga University and hear Chris Cook, poet laureate of Spokane 2019-2021, read one of his poems. This event is a fundraiser for the Spokane Symphony Orchestra.
