Two Kootenai County school levies are on the verge of being approved, one other is too close to call, if Tuesday night’s results hold.
In the Coeur d’Alene School District, voters have given a two-year, $40 million levy nearly 60% approval, with about two-thirds of the precincts reporting.A two-year, $19 million levy in the Lakeland School District has 53% support in Kootenai County. The levy is running about 50-50 in Bonner County.
The levy in Post Falls is too close to call. It has a two-vote lead with more than 2,300 votes counted. It’s a two-year, almost $10 million measure.
The Kootenai School District levy has about 70% support in Kootenai County, but there are also votes to be counted in Benewah County. The district is looking for about $1.5 million over two years.
The West Bonner County levy is behind after Tuesday night’s count, with more than 46%. That’s for two years and almost $7 million.
In Latah County, all four levies on the ballot are on their way to victory with all of the precincts reporting. Potlatch and Kendrick are proposing two year, $1.6 million supplemental levies. The Potlatch measure has more than 59% support, Kendrick’s nearly 59%.
The Troy and Genesee districts have one-year levies for nearly a million dollars. Troy’s ballot measure has about 80% support, Genesee’s 77%.
We haven’t yet seen vote totals for the Boundary County and St. Maries School Districts.
Boundary County is asking taxpayers for $4.8 million for two years. St. Maries’s levy is for a little more than $4 million for two years.
