Patrons who plan to attend performances at the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox will now be required to show proof of vaccination – or negative COVID-19 test.

Spokane Symphony Executive Director Jeff vom Saal said during an interview Monday the changes would go into effect September 7.“We are requiring a policy requiring proof of vaccination, for full immunity either by displaying the actual vaccine card that we all have or a photograph of that on your phone, or a negative Covid-19 test provided by an official provider, so not a self-administered test within 48 hours of the time of the performance,” he said.

Vom Saal says Fox organizers have been meeting every few days to discuss how to best protect those who attend Spokane Symphony concerts and “Fox Presents” events at the Woldson Theater.

He says masks must also be worn inside the theater during the show, but there will be no distancing requirements.

“Right now we are selling at 100% of capacity. We will continue to monitor that. It has been the case for every venue that I've come across," he said.

The 76th season of the Spokane Symphony starts on Saturday, September 18 with the Masterworks 1 show. Other non-symphony concerts will also be impacted by the new policy, including the Allman Betts Band, which plays September 11.
