Monday school closures, delays

Several Inland Northwest school districts alter their plans for the day because of snow.

Several school districts have closed for the day. Others are running hours late. Here is the list:

Spokane School District: 9 am start for high schools and Libby (no zero hours); 9:30 am start for elementary schools; 10 am start for middle schools; New Tech and Bryant start at their regular times; buses run an hour late; breakfast is available a half-hour prior to the start of school

Central Valley School District: snow routes are in effect for several mountain routes

Cheney School District: Classes will start two hours late; preschool school classes are also delayed; Cheney High School, the middle schools and Salnave Elementary will start at 9:50 am; most elementary schools will start at 10:50 am

Nine Mile Falls School District: Classes will start two hours late; buses are running two hours late; no breakfast today

All Saints Catholic School in Spokane: Classes will start two hours late

Okanogan School District: closed

Omak School District: closed

Paschal Sherman Indian School: closed

Methow Valley School District: closed

Pateros School District: closed

Brewster School District: closed

Bridgeport School District: Remote learning today

Colville School District: two hour late start, buses run two hours late

Kettle Falls School District: Classes start two hours late

Reardan-Edwall School District: Classes start at 10

Medical Lake School District: Classes start two hours late; morning preschool is cancelled; before and after school special programs are cancelled

Davenport School District: Classes start at 10

Wellpinit School District: Classes start two hours late

Liberty School District: Classes start two hour late; before school activities are cancelled

Coeur d'Alene Tribal School: Closed

Plummer-Worley School District: Closed

Forrest Bird Charter School in Sandpoint: Closed

Doug Nadvornick has spent most of his 30+-year radio career at Spokane Public Radio and filled a variety of positions. He is currently the program director and news director. Through the years, he has also been the local Morning Edition and All Things Considered host (not at the same time). He served as the Inland Northwest correspondent for the Northwest News Network, based in Coeur d’Alene. He created the original program grid for KSFC. He has also served for several years as a board member for Public Media Journalists Association. During his years away from SPR, he worked at The Pacific Northwest Inlander, Washington State University in Spokane and KXLY Radio.
