Throughout his long career, Leonard Slatkin has enjoyed long-term relationships with two major American Orchestras, the St. Louis and Detroit Symphonies, along with significant ties to orchestras in the U. S. and Europe. He also has found time to write a number of books, and even to be a radio host. Slatkin is in Spokane to lead the Spokane Symphony Orchestra this weekend, conducting music of Piotr Tchaikovsky, Johannes Brahms and contemporary composer, Cindy McTee. He cam to the SPR studios to talk with Jim Tevenan. The conversation ranged from details of Slatkin's illustrious musical family to his impressions of the Fox Theatre in Spokane, and much more!
