The latest production at Lake City Playhouse highlights a forgotten story of WWII. “These Shining Lives” details the experiences of “the Radium Girls”—the young women who worked in factories painting watch faces with glowing irradiated paint, contracting radiation poisoning.

The show’s director, Kristin Kilmer, visits the studio to discuss the play and the Radium Girls. Also in the studio are actors Maria Stromberg (Catherine) and Brandon James Miller (Tom), with a preview of the show.

Lake City Playhouse opens 2020 with a production of the Tony Award-winning musical "Fun Home," based on the autobiographical graphic novel by Alison Bechdel. Brooke Wood, the show's director, visits the studio with a preview and discussion of the show. Also in the studio are the three actors who play Alison at various stages of her life: Ruby Krajic (young Alison), Olivia Davies (young adult Alison), and Ann Benson (adult Alison).

Lake City Playhouse opens its summer season with a retelling of the story of America's most infamous criminal lovers, "Bonnie & Clyde: A New Musical." Board President & Director Brooke Wood, Amber Fiedler (Bonnie) and Oskar Owens (Clyde), visit the studio to talk about the show, and perform a preview of the music.

Members of Lake City Playhouse stopped by the studio to talk about their current production, the Stephen Sondheim musical "Company."

Director Lorna Hamilton, Music Director Jesse Hampsch, pianist Peter Rossing and actors Amber Fielder and Joseph Hall of Coeur d'Alene's Lake City Playhouse traveled to our station to give us a whiff of their upcoming musical set in a 1930s Hungarian parfumerie. “She Loves Me,” a witty tale of romance in its many forms, spawned from the same play that inspired several movies, including the hit 1990s rom-com “You’ve Got Mail.”

Performances will be at 7:30 PM on January 11 & 12 and 2 PM on January 13, with more showtimes each weekend through January 27.

Verne interviews guests from Lake City Play House production of Bye Bye Birdie in anticipation of their opening night this Friday and continuing through May 27th, 2018.

Guests from Lake City Playhouse's production of Quilters joins Verne in the studio to promote their upcoming show which opens this Friday at 2:00 PM,  March 23rd, 2018. 

"Quilters" performances take place from Friday March 23rd - Sunday, April 8th, 2018.

Showtime on Sundays wll be 2:00 PM.

Lake City Playhouse Presents "Falsettos"

Cast and crew of Lake City Playhouse production, Falsettos visit our studio today to speak and perform with Verne. Guests in the studio include Brandon Michael as Marvin, Alyssa Hersey as Trina, Jadd Davis, co-director and Jenny Twitchell on piano.

On Thursday morning, Musical Director, Chuck Ethridge, cast members, Karen Hunt (Julie Jordan), Conner Ealy (Billy Bigelow), Nicole Delbridge (Carrie Pipridge), Grady O'Shea (Enoch Snow), and their accompanist, Norilee Kimball visited with Verne to introduce the upcoming production of Carousel at the Lake City Playhouse. They also performed "If I Loved You," "When the Children Are Asleep," and "The Highest Judge of All," live, in the studio.

This morning representatives from the Lake City Playhouse in Coeur d'Alene stopped by the studio to talk about their upcoming production of Jesus Christ Superstar.   Director Troy Nickerson, music director Henry McNulty and cast members Abbey Crawford and Jadd Davis shared their experiences with the show and gave us a preview of a couple of the songs.  Jesus Christ Superstar opens Friday March 31 at Lake City Playhouse and runs Thursdays through Sundays until April 23. 

This morning, Troy Nickerson of the Lake City Playhouse and cast members from two upcoming shows joined Verne for a fun "Theater Friday" conversation. Billy Hultquist and Molly Allen talked about On Shaky Ground, a play written by Allen which will have a reader's theater show on Saturday, February 25 at 7:30pm.  Then Kathie Doyle-Lipe and Melody Deatherage gave a preview of a scene from Parallel Lives which opens on Thursday, March 2 and runs through March 12.
