Christopher Savage is the challenger for this position. He currently works as a DeVries courier. Savage has been active in the Spokane community for many years. He is a board member for Meals on Wheels, 2020-present, including as president of the board, 2023-2024; Serves as Balboa/South Indian Trail Community Assembly representative, 2018-present. Served as vice-chair of the Admin Committee for Community Assembly, 2020-2022; vice chair of Spokane Salary Review Commission, 2018-2021; secretary commissioner for Spokane Water Conservancy Commission, 2021-2023. He ran unsuccessfully for City Council in 2019, 2021 and 2023.

Zack Zappone is the incumbent seeking a second four-year term. Since 2021 he has been a Spokane Public School teacher. He previously taught at Kennewick Public Schools and was a Columbia University Fulbright English teaching fellow. He is President of the North Central alumni association. He served as Better Health Together program manager 2020-2021. Elected to the Spokane City Council in 2021, he has served on the Boards of Spokane Transit Authority, Association of Washington Cities and Visit Spokane. He previously served on the Spokane Regional Transportation Board
