Fat Tuesday Jazz Mass

Fat Tuesday Jazz Mass
St. Mark’s Lutheran Church celebrates Fat Tuesday with a Jazz Mass liturgy that will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 4, at 7:00 pm. It was written by our member and Whitworth professor emeritus, Dan Keberle and is the liturgy we use at St. Mark’s during the Epiphany Season. Dr. Keberle will play trumpet and will be joined by other local jazz musicians as well as our own musicians and 40-voice choir. Our church is located at the corner of 24th Ave. and Grand Blvd. This is a popular event, so we recommend coming early.
This is our nineteenth annual Fat Tuesday celebration and once again we want to share this experience and musical setting with people who attend other churches and thus would not be available on Sundays. Perhaps it is even a liturgy that you would like to use in your congregation. It is written in a way that the average congregation would be able to use it.
Each year we ask religious or community leader to be our guest preacher. This year Gretchen M. Rehberg, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Spokane will be our guest preacher. Hope you can attend.
