North Idaho College Theatre Department Presents: Lauren Gunderson's Silent Sky
Set in the early 1900s, Silent Sky tells the inspiring true story of astronomer Henrietta Leavitt, a whip-smart, headstrong pioneer at the dawn of modern astronomy. Working at Harvard University as a human "computer" mapping the stars, Henrietta discovers that the distance to the stars is less than the distance to acceptance in the world of turn-of-the-century science. Written by Lauren Gunderson, currently America's most produced playwright, Silent Sky blends science, history, and romance with bursts of smart, infectious humor.
