Inspired by the beloved film, Anastasia transports us from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. This moving musical of strength and perseverance is playing February 8-18 at the Regional Theatre of the Palouse.
Anastasia made its world premiere at Hartford Stage in Connecticut, completing a sold-out, record-breaking run before transferring to Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre on March 23, 2017. This mega-hit is now becoming one of the most popular musicals of our time due to its beautiful songs and grand story.

The story follows Anya, a Russian orphan who seeks the truth about her past. Pursued by a Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of a dashing conman and a lovable ex-aristocrat. Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home, love, and family. With its opulent settings, dazzling costumes, and a soaring score including the song favorites from the hit animated film, “Journey to the Past” and “Once Upon a December,” Anastasia is the spectacular new musical about discovering who you are and defining who you’re meant to be.
RTOP’s performance of Anastasia is directed by theatre professional and Palouse native Michael Todd; community member Tina McClure serves as musical director; costume design by John Rich.
