White Christmas

Based on the 1954 film.
It’s a holiday miracle! White Christmas is the heart warming musical comedy based on the film of the same name, featuring 17 songs by Irving Berlin. Dazzling musical numbers, bombastically colorful design, and an emotional story describe this winter extravaganza, playing October 19-29 at Regional Theatre of the Palouse.
The stage adaptation of White Christmas opened on Broadway at the Marquis Theatre on November 4, 2008, and since then the musical has exploded in popularity. The holiday hit is finally hitting the Palouse to enchant the masses!
Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by their former army commander. When Bob and Phil learn of the lodge’s troubles, they must team up with the sisters to save the inn and in the process their Christmas celebrations. With a dazzling score featuring well-known standards including “Blue Skies,” “I Love A Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean” and the perennial title song, White Christmas is an uplifting, wholesome musical that will delight audiences of all ages.
Packed with humor, romance, and unforgettable song and dance numbers, this tale of love and friendship is bound to delight all. RTOP’s performance of White Christmas is directed by theatre professional and Palouse native Michael Todd ; community member Tina McClure serves as musical director; costume design by John Rich.
