The Spokane Folklore Society hosts contra dances open to the public on 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month. The October 18 dance features caller Karen Wilson Bell with Crooked Kilt providing live folk music. Newcomer session begins at 7:15 followed by the dance starting at 7:30PM. Karen will teach and call easy to learn dances. Come dance with a fun welcoming community. These dances are held at the Woman's Club Hall at 9th and Walnut. General admission is $10, SFS members and students $7, and kids under 18 are free.
