CHAS To Consolidate Its Spokane Covid Testing At The Arena

The provider that has done much of the Covid testing in the Spokane area is consolidating its work at a new-through clinic at the Spokane Arena.

Kelley Charvet from Community Health Association of Spokane, or CHAS, says the demand for testing at the organization’s three sites has markedly increased.

“As we started to get into situations where we were impeding traffic and trying to create a more efficient, streamlined process, we came to the conclusion that we needed to look at a centralized location in the city of Spokane," Charvet said.

The CHAS clinic in the arena parking lot will open on Sunday. Testing is limited to people with Covid symptoms or those who have been directly exposed to someone with the virus. CHAS is also testing nursing home employees.

“What we’re hoping patients will do is go to CHAS.org and select a time when they anticipate they will be showing up, so they can see what times are available for testing. We will still accept anybody who comes on site," she said.

Charvet says CHAS will bill patients’ insurance for the cost of the tests. If you don’t have insurance, CHAS will still test you.

Testing will be available at the Arena, seven-days-a-week from 9-to-3. CHAS will also continue to offer testing in Deer Park and in Moscow and Lewiston, Idaho. All three of those sites will be open Monday-through-Friday from 9-to-3..
