Season 7, Episode 14: Eaux de Hose

Though a lot of competing shows wanted “Eaux de Hose” as an episode, it fell to Men in Charge to craft an episode around it.  “Eaux,” which in French means “eaux,” is what flows through hoses, and Tony and Kevin begin the show with stories about they had to drink from hoses and lead pipes when they were younger. Then it’s off to another adventure with presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner: exploring his man cave with German film documentarian Greta von Volkenstein-Gomez, who taunts him about his bowling trophies and Russian friends. Next, we hear from a new sponsor, the makers of the “Academic pop-up timer,” for when you want to know that you’ve studied just enough to skate by. After that, we hear political commentary in “The Republic for Richard Stanz.” What’s the difference between a political football and a political volleyball?  Richard Stanz will bean the Listener with at least one of them.  Finally, we learn about the terrifying new role-playing phenomenon, “Castigation Games.” Players are made to “use their minds,” which leads to an extended discussion about why John Nash (of the ever-so Beautiful Mind) might not even have been a real person, at least not until there was a biopic about him.  A thin meal of food for thought…
