In Memory of Linda Stowe

Linda Stowe—Spokane Public Radio’s chief financial officer for 28 years, and our dear friend and colleague—passed away suddenly on January 11th. We mourn her loss and we miss her dedicated service to the station and our communities, as well as her friendship. But Linda’s memory lives on in the public radio service we provide, and in our new facility that she was so instrumental in helping SPR build together with you, our members and supporters.

People are asking, “Is there anything I can do?” SPR’s staff, Board of Directors, Community Advisory Board, and several donors SPR have recently established the Linda K. Stowe Memorial News Fund.

This fund honors Linda’s long and dedicated service to SPR. And will help support bringing news to our communities—one of Linda’s great passions.

On behalf of the staff, Board, and Community Advisory Board of SPR, please join us in making a gift to this fund which may be used in support of both local and national news. This may include purchasing recording and editing equipment, additional personnel for elections and other major events, or the other myriad components of providing a vibrant public radio news service in our area.

Thank you for the many cards and notes of condolence. Your support of SPR—yesterday, today and tomorrow—is greatly appreciated. And thank you for honoring the memory of our friend and colleague, Linda Stowe. She is greatly missed.
