Capitol Steps Bring Their Political Satire to Spokane

Capitol Steps

The Capitol Steps political satire ensemble will perform Thursday evening at The Fox Theater in downtown Spokane.

“We get very few complaints because our show really gets everybody," says the ensemble's co-founder, Elaina Newport. "Of course, the party in power is always a little bit funnier. We have a lot of Trump songs, but we have Elizabeth Warren and Nancy Pelosi and Bernie Sanders, certainly, in the show. So people generally come away thinking, OK, they got everybody. The only politician that ever came up to me personally and was really mad after a show was Senator Alfonse D’Amato and he was mad because we didn’t have a song about him.”
