Documentary filmmaker David Byars has a new movie about the occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in eastern Oregon in 2016. It’s due to air on PBS’s Independent Lens program next week.
Byars says he’s long been interested in stories about public lands conflicts and so, when he heard about standoff at Malheur, he packed his gear and headed to Oregon.
