Former Olympic BMX Coach And Opioid Addict Speaks In Spokane

Tony Hoffman

Spokane’s opioids task force continued the community conversation Tuesday night about drug abuse and the best ways to address it.

The task force sponsored a public event at Riverside Place. It featured a former addict who has been clean for more than 10 years. Tony Hoffman’s story includes not only his struggles with drugs, but also a career as a top BMX bike racer and an Olympic coach.

Now Hoffman gives motivational speeches in which he talks about his past and his prescription for how to help people with their addictions. Doug Nadvornick talked with him before his speech.
